Teri Holamon, MA, LPC-S, RPT-S, CAAPT-S-I, CAEBS, CHST, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and Certified Humanistic Sandtray Therapist. She is a Certified Animal Assisted Play Therapist-Supervisor-Instructor, and Certified Animal Ethology & Behavior Specialist with the International Institute of Animal Play Therapy®. She and her dogs are also registered with Intermountain Therapy Animals and Reading Education Assistance Dogs. She is the co-founder of the ITA affiliate group North Texas Therapy Animals where she is an instructor and evaluator. Mrs. Holamon also specializes in both Sand Tray Therapy and insight-oriented psychotherapy. She earned two masters’ degrees in counseling (Professional Counseling and School Counseling) and has completed doctoral level counseling courses at Texas A&M-Commerce. Mrs. Holamon also received training in Play Therapy and AAT (Animal Assisted Therapy) at the University of North Texas. Mrs. Holamon also specializes in counseling gifted children and adults and is a trained group facilitator for SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of Gifted). Mrs. Holamon has worked over 20 years as a school counselor, and crisis counselor while maintaining a private practice for children, teens, and adults. She is a member of the Association for Play Therapy, the American Counseling Association, Texas Counseling Association, Texas School Counselors Association, International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors and Association for Specialists in Group Work.
